general generalness
1. so ok, it's april 24th, and it's snowing. ack. odd weather even for us!
2. i'm going to be selling necklaces (and maybe other stuff) to fundraise for a friend's adoption fund. mostly at church/ladies retreat, etc. (i'm not venturing into online sales, tho. it's too hard for me to get to the post office!) so any donations of beads or fixings or pendants or jewelery to recycle etc, send them my way!
3. i've been walking more.
4. but not today - it's snowing out there!
5. i heart my camera.
6. i heart my Jesus more!
7. wondering how long it's going to take for "i heart" to wind up in the dictionary....?
8. sad that i baked bread (after so many years) and loved it and intended to bake again that week and here i am prolly two months later and i still haven't baked again and i have no clear counter space (papers) or table space (beads) to eat at, never mind knead dough at!!!! wahhhhhh!
9. happy that cell is tonight!
10. i heart my cell.
11. i heart my friends.
12. i heart dinner at friends' houses!
13. i heart having friends over for dinner, but bemoan the fact that i have no table or counter space to feed them at (see #8). picnic on lynnie's floor, anyone?
14. but not on the deck - it's snowing out there!!!!!
15. wondering why i think well in lists?
16. wondering why i think anyone would want to read my thoughts in list form?
17. wondering why i think my friends are so shallow as to judge me for writing in an alternate format? - doh!
18. wondering why i'm caring what 'man' thinks, anyways?
19. have an annoying itchy spot on my back. grr.
20. ....i've run out of thoughts. time for food.

and i feed it so carefully...
... just a couple pieces of tp at a time.... flush... a few more... flush... a few more... flush...
... a few more... flush... it's not doing what it's supposed to be doing!!!... grab the plunger... plunge... plunge... plunge.... water rises... plunge maniacally... water still rises ....
... plunging frenetically now, water spills over the top.... i plunge a few more times and realize the water isn't stopping flowing into the bowl!.... drop the plunger, lift the lid, and find the balloon hasn't popped up!
so i lift it, jam my pajama pants under it to hold it up, run to my linen closet for towels and grab the 3 last clean towels and throw them down and drag 'em round, trying to stem the slow tide running down the floor in front of my cabinets... (all this in a matter of seconds)...
towels totally sopped in no time, wring wring wring, into the tub (of course, the toilet bowl is still full of water and plunger)... mop mop mop, wring wring wring, getting so tired, yet my brain *finally* kicks in that i have clean towels in the dryer just outside my bathroom door....
so i finally get the floor dry.
sigh.
i step back and take stock.
toilet, still full of water and plunger. floor, previously wet, now pretty much dry. previously perfectly-good-for-wearing jammy pants hanging out of the back of the toilet, dry at the top and soaked from the floor. tub full of toilet-water-wet towels, things hucked off the floor in a hurry, and my toilet paper sitting on top of it all, just soaking it all in. my shorts are soaked, legs soaked, arms soaked, and i'm trying not to think of what might have splashed on my face. and it's 12:30 at night.
sigh.
i'm going to bed! i huck my clothes, dry off my arms and legs, grab the sanitizer bottle, spray... spray... spray... (spray my feet for good measure), spray spray spray, declare that God is bigger than all the germs YES HE IS!!!!, spray spray spray, flip on the fan, turn out the light, and close the door behind me.
good night.
*******
today, i have laundry to do, some more spraying to do, and all the usual chores of course.....
and to top it all off, i had a crappy sleep.
go figure.

THIS BLOG IS IN NEED OF AN OVERHAUL. there are posts from years back i would not be able to post in good conscience now. i plan to overhaul the blog, and either delete or add a disclaimer to those posts. but that is gonna take time....
"The Spirit never loosens where the Word binds; the Spirit never justifies where the Word condemns; the Spirit never approves where the Word disapproves; the Spirit never blesses where the Word curses." —Thomas Brooks
"God receives none but those who are forsaken, restores health to none but those who are sick, gives sight to none but the blind, and life to none but the dead. He does not give saintliness to any but sinners, nor wisdom to any but fools. In short: He has mercy on none but the wretched and gives grace to none but those who are in disgrace. Therefore no arrogant saint, or just or wise man can be material for God, neither can he do the work of God, but he remains confined within his own work and makes of himself a fictitious, ostensible, false, and deceitful saint, that is, a hypocrite." --Martin Luther (W.A. 1.183ff)
i will not let You go: "Jacob's sense of his total debility and utter defeat is now the secret of his power with his friendly Vanquisher. God can overthrow all the prowess of the self-reliant, but He cannot resist the earnest entreaty of the helpless." --Albert Barnes
i will not let You go: "Jacob's determination did not flow from his strength, it flowed from his weakness." --Charles Leiter
