woke up this morning with a killer sore throat. thank You Lord for cepacol.

doc appointment tomorrow. hopefully not strep. last time i got strep i resisted it and when i finally saw the doctor he bawled me out cuz i was almost at the point i would have needed intraveinous antibiotics. he said if it didn't improve in the next day or two, i would have to have an iv. so this time i'm glad i already have an appointment tomorrow. get it checked.

also my rash..... it once was red and killer itchy. after sunday, it's been pale pink and not so itchy. God healing it????? i hope so~!!!!!

sometimes i think i write rather blah. but that's ok, if i only *ever* had eloquence in my blog, it would be rather contrived. so i'll just spill. if i'm feeling eloquent, great. if i write in colloquialisms, fine. if i blah blah blah, fine. it's all good.

um...... i have pics i could post but i'm lazy right now.

oh, ok. if you insist.

me, doing something - and in something - i miss very much.

my favorite wild flower

ahem.

in principle.

because i'm a sucker for the underdogs.

the western skunk cabbage

"While some consider the plant to be a weed, its roots are food for bears, who eat it after hibernating as a laxative or cathartic. The plant was used by indigenous people as medicine for burns and injuries, and for food in times of famine, when almost all parts were eaten. The leaves have a somewhat spicy or peppery taste. Although the plant was not typically part of the diet under normal conditions, its large, waxy leaves were important to food preparation and storage. They were commonly used to line berry baskets and to wrap around whole salmon and other foods when baked under a fire. It is also used to cure sores and swelling." from wikipedia

God created it and called it good, so it is beautiful in His eyes. it's aroma is fragrant in His nostrils. it's useful in His hands, and plays a part in His plan.

more evidence of the Designer's hand and of it's honorable beauty:

"The leaves are the largest of any native plant in the region, 50-135 cm long and 30-80 cm wide when mature. Its flowers are produced in a spadix contained within a large, bright yellow or yellowish green spathe 30-40 cm tall; it is among the first flowers to appear in spring. The skunk cabbage also produces heat. During the Winter the heat it produces melts the snow around it so that it is able to survive." .... "The plant is called Skunk Cabbage because of the malodorous, distinctive "skunky" odor that it emits. This odor will permeate the area where the plant grows, and can be detected even in old, dried specimens. The foul odor attracts its pollinators, scavenging flies and beetles. Other common names include Yellow Skunk Cabbage and Swamp Lantern." from wikipedia

The Radical Summons: "
Therefore let us go to Him outside the camp and bear the reproach He endured. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come." Hebrews 13:13.

"The Spirit never loosens where the Word binds; the Spirit never justifies where the Word condemns; the Spirit never approves where the Word disapproves; the Spirit never blesses where the Word curses." —Thomas Brooks

‎"God receives none but those who are forsaken, restores health to none but those who are sick, gives sight to none but the blind, and life to none but the dead. He does not give saintliness to any but sinners, nor wisdom to any but fools. In short: He has mercy on none but the wretched and gives grace to none but those who are in disgrace. Therefore no arrogant saint, or just or wise man can be material for God, neither can he do the work of God, but he remains confined within his own work and makes of himself a fictitious, ostensible, false, and deceitful saint, that is, a hypocrite." --Martin Luther (W.A. 1.183ff)

i will not let You go: "Jacob's sense of his total debility and utter defeat is now the secret of his power with his friendly Vanquisher. God can overthrow all the prowess of the self-reliant, but He cannot resist the earnest entreaty of the helpless." --Albert Barnes
