and why?

i'm thinkin' i'm gonna start coming up with my own meme/quiz questions... i get frusterated with all the same questions and answers, and rarely with an explanation!!!! WHY..... feel free to play along, chickies!

1. what color represents your personality, and why? - i think currently it would be yellow - cheerful almost all the time, except when it gets on your nerves and you wish it weren't so dang chipper all the time.... get away from me, already! lol

2. what candy represents your walk with God, and why? - a marshmallow... becuase once the outer skin has been cooked and slid off, what you do with the core that remains is the most yummy part.... and as God skims of the who i thought i was, burns off the old 'man', and reveals the who He made me to be, who i am on the inside, i discover more and more what God has destined for me, and i get excited about what He's going to do in my life!

3. what song represents an aspect of your life, and why? - right now all i can think of is 'fever', becuase i feel like Jesus is what i've caught, and heats me up to have some passion in life (get yer mind out of the gutter!).... i've often said i like too many things but none enough to make a career of it... what's the point? well, now Jesus is my reason, my passion, my only source of having a desire to DO anything, y'know? otherwise it's all pointless...

4. what sound reminds you of home, and why? - my home? crows, wind in the trees.... becuase that is one of my favorite sounds from home when i was a kid, and i have it where i am now too, it just says 'home' to me!

5. what textile/material reminds you of your childhood, and why? - coarsly woven upholstery material, especially if it's on a living room set - becuase the set we had all the years i was growing up was that kind of woven material, and i can even almost smell it just thinking about it~!

6. how do you like your steak, and why? veddy well done... becuase if it's not totally dead i can't enjoy it as much... and i love it when i can taste 'char' on it, which would explain why i like cajun blackened charbroiled chicken, too!!!! oh, and if the steak is done on an outdoor bbq, that's the bestest!!!!!!

7. how do you like your eggs, and why? - i used to say hard boiled for the same reason as the steaks (it's gotta be totally dead, salmonella and all! no soft yolks for me!)... but now i'm going to be daring and say that i'm craving it sunny side up.... i had it like that camping, and i actually lived dangerously enough to eat it, enjoyed it immensely, and realize i need to trust God and not the cooking to keep me safe! lol..... soon, chris, i'll eat one of your super rare steaks, too....

8. how do you like your coffee/tea, and why? coffee - lots of cream or whole milk, and demerara sugar. demerara gives it the nicest taste, and the cream YUM YUM YUM~!!!!! and besides being YUM it slows down the digestion of sugar so i can actually enjoy my coffee instead of trying to drink it without sugar... YUCK. oh, and i can enjoy this coffee hot, lukewarm, room temperature, or cold!!!!!! especially if it's made with Encore instant coffee (it has chicory)!

9. how do you like your current mode of transportaion, and why? - mom's crown victoria. i love it! i asked her yesterday if i could paint it yet - it's gonna be mine one day anyways! lol - and she said, "you know that it would be harder to trade in if you paint it?" ... i said, "why would i want to trade it in?! it's an awesome car!!!! the only comfortable thing out there!!!!" lol.

10. how do you like your current house/apartment etc, and why? - i love the yard, the layout, the neighbours, the neighbourhood... i just don't like the air quality. there is no vapor barrier between the unfinished basement and the living areas, and it always has - to varying degrees - that damp musty vegetation smell..... and i got asthma for the first time in my life while living here!!!!! ya have to wonder, y'know?

THIS BLOG IS IN NEED OF AN OVERHAUL. there are posts from years back i would not be able to post in good conscience now. i plan to overhaul the blog, and either delete or add a disclaimer to those posts. but that is gonna take time....

The Radical Summons: "
Therefore let us go to Him outside the camp and bear the reproach He endured. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come." Hebrews 13:13.

"The Spirit never loosens where the Word binds; the Spirit never justifies where the Word condemns; the Spirit never approves where the Word disapproves; the Spirit never blesses where the Word curses." —Thomas Brooks

‎"God receives none but those who are forsaken, restores health to none but those who are sick, gives sight to none but the blind, and life to none but the dead. He does not give saintliness to any but sinners, nor wisdom to any but fools. In short: He has mercy on none but the wretched and gives grace to none but those who are in disgrace. Therefore no arrogant saint, or just or wise man can be material for God, neither can he do the work of God, but he remains confined within his own work and makes of himself a fictitious, ostensible, false, and deceitful saint, that is, a hypocrite." --Martin Luther (W.A. 1.183ff)

i will not let You go: "Jacob's sense of his total debility and utter defeat is now the secret of his power with his friendly Vanquisher. God can overthrow all the prowess of the self-reliant, but He cannot resist the earnest entreaty of the helpless." --Albert Barnes

i will not let You go: "Jacob's determination did not flow from his strength, it flowed from his weakness." --Charles Leiter
